Privacy Statement

This Web site was created by the Montana Meth Project as part of a united community effort to reduce first-time meth use in teens in our state. This is a serious problem, and so we take your privacy very seriously. Any information you share here that could personally identify you will not be sold, rented, or shared with any third parties. Period.

Submitted Information
Your actions when visiting this Web site determine what information, if any, we receive about you. In some areas you may choose to use a nickname or screen name. You should never give your full name, e-mail or home address or other personal information on these pages. In the case of forwarding materials to other people, you are required to submit your name and e-mail address to the Montana Meth Project.

If you use the e-mail links on the pages of this Web site, we will only use the information you provide for the purpose of responding to you. These e-mail addresses are not collected or shared with any third parties.

The message boards on this Web site are moderated. Any content you submit will be reviewed and may possibly be edited for inappropriate content and/or length before it is posted. Montana Meth Project also reserves the exclusive right to determine if content is appropriate for posting, and in cases where it deems content inappropriate, to not publish the content in question.

If you post to any of the message boards on this Web site, we must insist that you adhere to the following guidelines:

I. If you submit your story, you may be contacted by a Montana Meth Project representative who may request verification of the following information prior to publication of your story:
Name (your legal name, not a nickname)
Age
Gender
Hometown

In order to comply with federal laws, we require that you send a Parental Permission form to Montana Meth Project Executive Director Nitsa Zuppas, P.O. Box 8944 Missoula, MT 59807. The Parental Permission form requires a child's legal name and screen name. We will use this information to match story submissions with Parental Permission forms. We will not use the child's legal name for any other reason, except when special permission is explicitly provided by the parent. We will not use the parent's postal address for any purpose other than to communicate with their child, via the child's screen name. Parents may, at any time, ask to have the information provided in the Parental Permission form deleted and refuse to allow any further collection or use of the child's information. All parental Permission forms shall include procedures for the parent to follow.

II. To upload other submissions to this Web site, you will not be required to reveal personally identifiable information.

While your screen name will be collected when you post to a message board, submissions that incorporate any personally identifiable information will be removed prior to online posting.

The company contracted to maintain this Web site has agreed with the Montana Meth Project that they will not use the anonymous information collected for any purposes beyond which they were hired.

COPPA
We promise never to willingly or knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13, in order to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998.
